TRENDING: ES MEDIALDEA TO ES GINA LOPEZ, “WALA KANG ALAM SA PAGGOGOBYERNO!”

May mining sila, may subsidiary sila. Kita mo, kunwaring bibira dito, sisirain pala.

“They become really vicious and virulent. Ganu’n ‘yan. Mabasa, makita mo naman talagang tini-twist nila. ‘Yung slant na slant. Sinasadya nila. They do not complete the sentence. They zero in on the adjective or kung however you describe the situation.”

“Galit sila kapag natalo yung kandidato nila.

Kayong mga Prieto, kayong mga Lopez did your grandfathers live forever?”

EXPOSED: GINA LOPEZ IS DELUSIONAL

Excuse me? Are we talking about vested interest here? Are you sure you want to go there Ms. Overacting Secretary Gina Lopez?

Excuse me? Are we talking about vested interest here? Are you sure you want to go there?

Let’s see. Created own rules to ensure that mines will be closed down or suspend their operations, check. Created own rules so that the family-owned mining company will be exempted from first rule, check.

Irresponsible disposal of hazardous wastes by family-owned corporation left unpunished, check. Mismanage government funds and get away with it, check.

Oh, and use company-owned media outlets to spread lies and propaganda, CHECK.

Gina, please. Don’t us.

TRENDING: TOP 5 GINA LOPEZ BLUNDERS BEFORE THE CA

Gina Lopez is also known as Ms. Alternate Facts. She doesn’t follow the law, because she has her own appreciation to it, manoeuvring it to her own interest.

  1. “They’re not all proclaimed watersheds, but a watershed is a watershed is a watershed.”As DENR Secretary with the power to execute orders that can affect an entire industry and the loss of jobs for countless Filipinos, it is incumbent upon the Secretary to be clear about what the law says. Something Gina Lopez clearly is not an expert at, nor does she care.
  2. “I’m really not a technical person at all.”

When asked to define what an MPSA is, Gina Lopez answered with the above quote, adding that “she’d fail if the CA questions her on technicals. There you go.
  3. “Balfour has not commenced.”Opposer and geologist Caloy Arcilla syas before the CA that First Balfour, a Lopez-owned company, is operating near a watershed. Gina Lopez denied this. Arcilla points out to the committee that it says otherwise on First Balfour’s website.

Shortly after Arcilla’s testimony, the portion about the quarrying near a wathershed was taken down from First Balfour’s website.
  4. “CARAGA is the poorest region in the country.”

Gina Lopez was making this argument to close down mines, citing that despitd the presencd of mining the region is still the poorest in Mindanao.

Only CARAGA is not the poorest in the region. It’s not even in the top 20 poorest provinces in the country according to the Philippine Statistics Authority, as pointed out by Senator Migz Zubiri during the CA hearing.
  5. “I’ll be flying to the US.”

Lopez asked the CA to move the next hearing to May 8 as she will be flying to the United States this March for a spiritual retreat. In short, a vacation. “You should prioritize the CA,” Senator Franklin Drilon told her.

She will still fly out, prompting Senator Manny Pacquiao to tell media that Gina Lopez’s appointment will likely be bypassed.

Ikaw na ate.

VIRAL: I LIED!!! : 5 TOP GINA LOPEZ LIES

You would think that that would be a crucial requirement for the position. And since she is not knowledgable, she does what she does best: she lies.

In her recent appearance before the Committee on Appointments, Gina Lopez admits that she is not knowledgable on the technical aspects of mining. You would think that that would be a crucial requirement for the position. And since she is not knowledgable, she does what she does best: she lies.

Here are some of them:

  1. She claims that there were 17,000 supporters who trooped to the Senate in support of her hearing before the CA. The actual number was just 3000.
  2. She held a press conference on alleged violations of mining companies on an audit conducted by the MGB. It turned out she did not like the audit reports, so she cooked up some imaginary violations just so she can close these firms down.
  3. 3. She claims that underground mining causes earthquakes. Scientists debunked this claim. Where she got that idea, we haven’t a clue.
  4. In a symposium, Gina Lopez claimed Manny Pangilinan said that places where mining took place were ugly to begin with. MVP counters that he never said such a thing. This prompted MVP to call Lopez a liar to her face.
  5. Probably sensing that she will not be confirmed by the CA, she claimed CA members were being bribed P50 M each by mining stakeholders. She later retracted when asked by media for proof.

VIRAL: GINA LOPEZ COMMITTED GRAFT AND DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT

The plot thickens. EcoGlobal’s chief John-Philippe Henry is rumored to be Lopez’s lover. We wonder how Lopez’s dear friend Leo Jasareno feels about this.

Bratty DENR Secretary-designate Gina Lopez imposes herself on everyone in any situation that pleases her. She pressured the Department of Energy to fasttrack the permit of a solar farm owned by a French firm EcoGlobal. Without the knowledge of DOE Secretary Al Cusi.

What’s worse is that EcoGlobal flew Lopez and some of her staff to France, shouldering all the expenses, including hotel accommodation and travel allowances. And this is explicitly forbidden for government officials and is tantamount to committing an act of graft.

But the plot thickens. EcoGlobal’s chief John-Philippe Henry is rumored to be Lopez’s lover. It’s an established fact that Gina will do anything for her family and loved ones.

We wonder how Lopez’s dear friend Leo Jasareno feels about this.

VIRAL: Vilifying the Mining Industry and why we need to listen MORE to Scientists

Some quarters are painting this as good vs evil. Why is mining evil? If we are to believe the misinformed, we could say it is anti-poor and anti-environment.

In this corner, we have Gina Lopez, NGOs, environmentalists, some religious personalities and Winnie Monsod. Oh, and the whole Lopez clan.

In that corner, we have the mining companies, its stakeholders, geologists and scientists.

Some quarters are painting this as good vs evil. Why is mining evil? If we are to believe the misinformed, we could say that it is anti-poor and anti-environment; it destroys the earth and… well, I don’t know how it is anti-poor.

Most people still believe that mining renders the soil and the water surrounding the sites uninhabitable and non-arable. It is not mining. It’s the minerals. Heavy metals make agriculture impossible. If surrounded by water, these metals prevent fisheries to prosper because the water will be uninhabitable.

So-called pundits also argue that the country benefits from the measly less than 1 percent contribution of mining to its coffers. Mining is only present in MIMAROPA and CARAGA regions. That is less than 2 pecent of the country. Context is important, as any writer or journalist worth their salt would know. What these pundits fail to account for is that mining impacts the income and employment of people wherever it is present–people who would otherwise not have jobs, let alone the income, as agriculture and fisheries are impossible in their area.

In this battle if perceptions, cold, hard facts and data are needed. The beauty of science is that it is always true regardless of how others may try and discredit it. While this post may not reach as many as Winnie Monsod’s, the facts and data will still hold true regardless.

Somebody please feature more scientists like geologist Dr. Caloy Arcilla. For unlike other so-called experts, they actually know what they are talking about.

EXPOSED: GINA LOPEZ CAN LIE ABOUT ANYTHING

These are the hard numbers in the real world. A world that Gina Lopez does not inhabit with the rest of us.

Alien? Alien!

17,000.

That’s the number Gina Lopez came up with. According to her, that was the number of supporters who showed up at the Senate grounds as she was set to appear before the Committee on Appointments.

3,000.

That was the actual number of people who showed up in support of Lopez as reported by the media.

Now, it’s either Lopez is some deity who can multiply the number of people in attendance, or she is lying. We have seen Lopez in person, so we know she is just human.

What we do know is that she has a history of manipulating facts and bend them to serve her own personal agenda. She has been inconsistent with her statements and she manipulates people and the general public, playing on the unfounded fears and misinformed perception of people about the mining industry.

Let’s look at the other figures: 5,000 people went to the DENR office in Quezon City to oppose Lopez’s appointment on the same day that those 3,000 showed up at the Senate.

These 5,000 are part of the 300,000 individuals affected by Lopez’s bias against mining. These 300,000 are from 17 municipalities in 10 provinces in the country that are about to lose over 800 million pesos in revenues from mining. The 300,000 is part of the 100 million Filipinos. These 100 million will be affected as the nation loses half a billion pesos in revenues from mining.

Not to mention the total number of Filipinos who will lose their jobs because of killing the industry that is a vital part of the economic supply chain: 1.2 Million Filipinos.

These are the hard numbers in the real world. A world that Gina Lopez does not inhabit with the rest of us.

Alien? Alien!

EXPOSED: GOVT SCIENCE AGENCY OPERATE ON PSEUDO-SCIENCE

On the first flag ceremony Lopez attended with the department, “I Believe I Can Fly” was sung, raising a lot of eyebrows and drawing some sneers.

Gina Lopez is treating the DENR as her own private church/ retreat house. Joselito Blanco and Raul Urmamac, provincial environment and natural resources officers of Aurora and Bataan, respectively, have been relieved from their posts. Others more were put on floating status. Why? Because their photos do not emit the right aura.

That’s right; Lopez, who recently posted a video of herself wearing only robes on her social media account after just having emerged from a meditation, asked to have photos of her staff in the department and had them assessed by her guru in India and her geomancers via email. If her “consultants” do not approve of the employees’ chakra and feng shui, these employees can very well say goodbye to their careers as government employees.

Lopez enrolled right-hand man and former DENR Undersecretary Leo Jasareno in a wellness seminar. He underwent a major transformation. Yes sir, this is where our taxes go.

On the first flag ceremony Lopez attended with the department, “I Believe I Can Fly” was sung, raising a lot of eyebrows and drawing some sneers. She distributed wellness oils to employees to ‘harness positive energy.’ She’s a strange one, for sure.

We can accept the eccentricities of some of our leaders so long as these do not directly interfere with or affect the way they rule. But if they start consulting geomancers and make crucial decisions affecting millions of Filipinos based on the way the stars align, then we have to draw the line. For if doing so makes one qualified for such a position in government, then let it be known that a lot of Pinoys also read their horoscope on a daily basis.
